ENNWO reaffirms commitment to Naga solution

DIMAPUR, JUL 14 (NPN): Eastern Naga National Worker’s Organisation (ENNWO), designated camp, Khehoyi, has reaffirmed its commitment to an early, acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political solution.
In a statement jointly issued by Eastern Naga National Worker’s Organisation convener Yamthong Yimkhiung and secretary Pongba Konyak, said the Eastern Naga National Worker’s Association (ENNWA) was a welfare body comprising members from all Naga political groups and headed by a convener, secretary and other officials representing the various communities of Eastern Nagaland.
It said official communications on political or welfare matters should be initiated through the organisation for proper deliberation and coordination among its leaders.
Eastern Naga National Worker’s Organisation stated that the ultimate goal of ENNWA, along with the rest of the Nagas, was to pursue an early, acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political solution, which remained the foremost priority for all ENNWA leaders and members.
On Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), the organisation said the matter concerned the Government of India, Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the Nagaland government. It maintained that ENNWA, as an association of Naga national workers affiliated to various Naga revolutionary groups, remained fully committed to pursuing an acceptable and honourable Indo-Naga political settlement.
It said the aspirations of ENNWA should therefore align with the historical and political rights of all Nagas.
ENNWO further stated that if the Framework Agreement (FA) had any political inconsistency or deficiency, the Agreed Position signed on November 17, 2017 had addressed those shortcomings.
Describing both the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position as irreversible political documents, ENNWO said all Nagas should insist that the Government of India honour them in letter and spirit to usher in enduring peace in Nagaland and the North East.
