ENPO, Cabinet discuss FNTA Memorandum of Agreement

KOHIMA, AUG 25 (NPN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the Nagaland state Cabinet held a meeting at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Kohima on Tuesday to deliberate on the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA), signed on February 5, 2026.
Sources described the meeting as cordial and constructive, with the Cabinet reiterating that the spirit and provisions of the MoA would be upheld.
Sources said the FNTA Bill, which was tabled in the Assembly earlier this year, is likely to be cleared during the upcoming session of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, scheduled to commence on September 1, 2026.
The meeting between the ENPO leadership and the state Cabinet is seen as an important step towards taking forward the commitments made under the February 5 MoA.
