Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has once again categorically reiterated the Chenmoho Public Resolution and the subsequent reaffirmation of May 14, 2024 not to participate in any Central and state election in response to the delay in settling the Central government’s offer for creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT), and the state government’s lack of response to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) draft in this regard.
Declaring that as per the public resolution there would be no participation in the upcoming urban local body (ULB) election in the state, the ENPO in a statement declared that the Chenmoho resolution stood as a testament to the collective resolve and commitment to addressing these crucial issues.
“We hereby remind that as per the public resolution, there will be no participation in the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) election in the state,” ENPO asserted.
The organisation further urged all stakeholders to recognise the gravity of this situation and the necessity for meaningful engagement and resolution.
It also appreciated the people’s understanding and support as these challenges were being navigated.
Further, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation announced empowering respective tribal councils to make the public understand the gravity of the situation and thus honour the February 23, 2024 Chenmoho resolution.
