ENPO says no to exploration of any mineral resource
The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has reiterated its earlier stand not to allow exploration of any mineral resource, including oil, in Eastern Nagaland region.
According to a statement, ENPO, in consultation with federating tribal bodies, has reminded that the public resolution still stood with regard to exploration/extraction of mineral resources, including oil.
ENPO said that the “public resolution still stands firm and resolute.”
Therefore, ENPO said that the resolution would continue to remain in force until such time the organisation framed its own guidelines in consultation with the federating tribal bodies, landowners and other stakeholders.
