ENPUM rally in Mkg against Sep 14 murder

A silent procession was taken out here Wednesday under the aegis of the Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Mokokchung (ENPUM) from Imlong place (main police point) to DC office over the alleged murder of Esther Phom on September 14, 2021.

The procession joined by more than 2000 members marched to DC’s office holding banners and placards and submitted the memorandum to the DC Mokokchung.

The memorandum stated that murder of late Easter Phom by one Aowati (GB), provoked deep concern over the safety and security of women in the society.

In order to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future, the memorandum demanded that “justice must not only be done, but justice must be seen to be done.”

It stated that should there be any act of individual or organization that “tantamount to the dilution of justice served or pre-mature release of the convict,” the responsible authority should immediately apprehend such act.
