ENSF phase-II agitation begins

CorrespondentKIPHIRE SEP 15 (NPN)

As part of its phase-II agitation against government’s failure to retain/deploy teachers in the schools that were left without relievers during recent teachers’ rationalisation, the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) sealed government offices, closed government schools, and restricted movement of government-registered vehicles across Eastern Nagaland.
In Kiphire, the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) closed down government schools and offices in Kiphire. Movement of government vehicles were also restricted in the district.
USSC executive chairman Aketo Sangtam told Nagaland Post that the ongoing phase-II agitation was being enforced since the department of school education failed to address the genuine demands of ENSF. Placards were also placed in several location some of which read “Our future is not nonsense”, “Education first, excuses last” etc.

DoSE appeals
Department of School Education (DoSE) has appealed to ENSF to keep on hold its proposed 2nd phase of agitation in the Eastern districts.
In a communiqué issued on Monday, DoSE said the department was actively examining the proposal submitted by ENSF for addressing the concerns of the Federation.
It clarified that the rationalisation order dated August 22, 2025 had restricted review of rationalisation only to the 1650 teachers affected during the transfer and re-deployment carried out in February 2025.
The department assured that the issue of critical shortages would be addressed within September 30, 2025.
