DIMAPUR: The Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students’ Union (ENSSU), in collaboration with the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, organized a consumer awareness programme on May 11 at Government High School Sitimi Town under the theme, “Accurate Measurement, Safe Products – Confident Consumers.”
The highlight of the programme was the technical session conducted by inspector LM&CP Zunheboto, Er. Pukhai L. Swu, during which he elaborated on the Consumer Protection Act and emphasized the significance of accurate measurement, consumer rights, safe products and responsible consumer practices.
He also enlightened the gathering on the roles and responsibilities of consumers in promoting a fair and transparent marketplace. The programme also had an interactive session.
The programme was hosted by tribunal secretary ENSSU, Hoboli Yeptho, invocation by primary teacher of GHS Sitimi Town, Mughali, welcome address by president of ENSSU, Vihepu K. Yeptho, a brief exhortation by GT GHS Sitimi Town, Vika Aye and concluded with a vote of thanks by tribunal general ENSSU, Ninoto Z Katty.
