Environment nod for NL House Mumbai likely

Union Minister for Environment and Forest Prakash Javadekar has reportedly assured to address post-facto coastal regulation zone (CRZ) clearance of the Nagaland Guest House at Navi Mumbai at the earliest.

Javadekar gave assurance when a PDA delegation consisting of minister for housing & mech Tongpang Ozukum, advisor IT&C, S&T and NRE Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor horticulture & border affair Mhathung Yanthan and advisor TE & Election Medo Yokha called on him at his official residence in  Delhi on Friday, PRO Nagaland House, Delhi, Kuolie Mere stated in a press release.

The delegation conveyed the State government’s appreciation to the union minister for his timely intervention during the recent fire at Dzukou. They also appealed for provision of resources to procure firefighting equipment and construction of permanent firelines to prevent future occurrences.

On the issue of Amur Falcon Roosting sites, the delegation proposed for Central assistance to create state of the art ecotourism infrastructure. Javadekar, while appreciating the proposal, has raised the issue of delay in submission of wetland development plan (National Plan for Conservation of aquatic ecosystems), NPCA, by the State.

With regard to Man-Elephant conflict, the delegation requested for provision of adequate compensation to affected persons.

On February 25, PDA delegation had also called on union minister of state for housing and urban affairs and civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri. During discussion, the delegation conveyed the State’s gratitude to the minister for providing a direct flight connectivity between Dimapur and Delhi and clearance for cargo facilities at Dimapur Airport.

The union minister assured to extend all possible assistance to the State in terms of development of infrastructure. 

He also approved in principle the provision of “Demonstration Housing Project” in the State as requested by minister for housing Tongpang Ozukum. 

A team of officials from the Ministry would be shortly visiting the State to stock of the ongoing infrastructure development and also visit the proposed site for the DHP.
