Regional Centre for Organic and Natural Farming, Imphal, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India, organized two days training on Organic/Natural farming for extension officers/officials (EO/FO) of Nagaland State Agriculture department, in collaboration with ICAR- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dimapur on March 18 and 19, at Training Hall, ICAR- KVK, Dimapur.
A press release by KVK Dimapur informed that the programme commenced with inaugural session, graced by District Agriculture Officer, Chumoukedimaas, Boidevi Shuya as special guest.
During the two days, participants benefited from technical lectures, hands on practical sessions, and field visits facilitated by resource persons from ICAR-KVK Dimapur (Nagaland).
The technical sessions mainly focused on need, principle & benefits of organic/ natural farming, pest & disease management in organic farming, soil health and nutrient management, post harvest management of organic produce, integrated organic farming system, importance of livestock in organic farming, current govt. scheme for promotion of organic/ natural farming, bio-input preparation, certification system in organic farming, marketing and branding.
