Essay writing competition marks Cooperative Week celebration

DIMAPUR: A school level essay writing competition commemorating five years of the Ministry of Cooperation was held on June 30 at the RCS Office Complex, Meriema, Kohima, as part of the Cooperative Week Celebration (Coops Day) from June 29 to July 6.
In a press release, joint registrar of Cooperative Societies, Kohima, Bokato Hesso, informed that the programme was organised to promote awareness among the younger generation on the significance of the cooperative movement. The competition was held on the theme “Cooperatives for a Peaceful World: Strengthening Communities through Cooperation, Inclusiveness and Sustainable Development,” highlighting the role of cooperatives in promoting economic justice, social harmony, democratic participation and sustainable development.
Altogether 31 students from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Northfield School, G. Rio Higher Secondary School, Ruzhukhrie Government Higher Secondary School and T.M. Government Higher Secondary School participated in the competition.
The results will be announced and prizes presented by Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav during the Coops Day celebration at Lok Bhavan, Kohima, on July 3.
