Ekranipathar Village Council (EVC) at its emergency meeting held on February 10 has passed several resolutions for strict compliance in the ensuing assembly election 2023.
In a press release, EVC chairman Yezheto Yepthomi and secretary, Gokul Bardewa stated that the council has prohibited interference from outsiders in the village activities during the election times and on the polling day.
EVC warned that any political parties/other elements found loitering/campaigning within the village vicinity will be penalised as per the council resolution. In this regard, EVC has authorised the Ekranipathar Village Youth Organisation to monitor all the above activities within the village jurisdiction and to take strict action with further consultation with the village council. The members of EVC has been asked to maintain neutrality on the polling day and in case of any disputes with its jurisdiction during the election times/polling day, the decision of the council will be final and binding. Further, EVC made it clear that the resolution has been made to conduct free and fair election and for the security of the village in particular.
