EWN, NZP sign MoU to boost conservation

DIMAPUR: Eco Warriors Nagaland (EWN) and the Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Rangapahar have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 2, 2026 to establish a collaborative partnership focused on biodiversity conservation, environmental education, scientific documentation and community engagement.
The MoU was signed by Enyiwekha Wezah, director & DCF, NZP, and Tekameren I. Jamir, co-founder, EWN, in the presence of Watisungla Amar, RFO, NZP, along with members of Eco Warriors Nagaland.
The partnership aims to promote conservation awareness, biodiversity documentation, environmental stewardship and public participation in conservation initiatives. A key component will be EWN’s technical support in tree taxonomy and biodiversity documentation within the Zoological Park, including identification and scientific recording of tree species and flora.
Both organisations will also collaborate on educational outreach programmes, awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives, volunteer engagement, nature-based learning activities and capacity-building initiatives. The partnership seeks to strengthen NZP’s role as a centre for conservation education while fostering greater environmental responsibility among communities and youth.
The signing of the MoU marks the beginning of a long-term partnership dedicated to conservation, education, research and sustainable environmental action in Nagaland.
