Ex-servicemen of Mon receive ambulance

Ex-servicemen community of Mon, received an Ambulance, based on Mahindra Supro, gifted by the, Mumbai based, Atharva Foundation. The Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Resettlement, Nagaland for the Welfare of Ex-Servicemen of Nagaland, has been dedicated to provide, the essential medical support to the Ex-servicemen and their families in the remote region.


According to a press release by, PRO and spokesperson, ministry of defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, in a simple ceremony, held on October 14, at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Complex, Kohima, Home Commissioner, Nagaland Abhijit Sinha (IAS), was the chief guest of the occasion and he handed over the ambulance to the President, Ex-servicemen League, Mon District.Sub Maj (Hony Capt) Khaknyei Konyak (Retd).


While addressing the gathering the Home Commissioner highlighted the importance of timely response to a medical emergency and that the ambulance will be instrumental in assisting the citizens of Mon district.
The program began with a welcome address and brief on the event and the project by Director, Ex-servicemen Welfare, Nagaland Captain (IN) Lalsuonglien Tonsing V (Retired). The ceremony culminated with the prayers by the pastor.


There are approximately 3100 ex-servicemen in Nagaland and over 120 are living in the Mon District. The ambulance has been donated as part of the Coperate Social Responsibility (CSR) of the Atharva Foundation run by Shri Sunil Rane, MLA, Borivali, Mumbai.
