Excise dept arrest 2 with IMFL

State Excise department, in its renewed effort and step up surveillance patrolling duty to check illegal trafficking and smuggling of liquor in the State and districts, arrested one person along with 228 can beer from Chumukedima check gate. The arrested was made under the command of Thathang, AIE I/c, and party on January 22.
On January 29, Excise party intercepted one suspected Kiphire bound truck bearing registration No NL08 A 6558 and seized 5525 bottles of rum and apprehended one individual.
Both the accused were booked and penalized under relevant section of NLTP Act’ 89 and the items were confiscated.
