State excise department commemorated “international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking” on June 26 at the excise directorate on the theme “share facts on drugs, save lives” under strict covid guidelines.
At a simple function, commissioner of excise & prohibition Hotolu Swu exhorted the officers and field staff reminding them of their responsibilities as an enforcing agency. He also congratulated all the awardees.
The main highlight of the programme was declaration of pledge against illicit traffickers and smugglers and distribution of commissioner’s commendation certificate to 16 field officer and personnel.
The prominent speaker at the programme was additional commissioner of excise, Kevisetuo Angami who spoke on the significance of the day.

Osenrhoni Kikon, brief report on drug seizure was delivered by superintendent of excise (NC) P Koi Khiamniungan and invocation was said by superintendent of excise Dimapur, T. Arilong Longkumer.
