Excise Narcotic Cell (NC) enforcement duty party during routine checking (MVCP) on Highway 29 at Kuki-Dolong area arrested one Dhaneshwar Wari, s/o Bisharam Wari, resident of Alipur Gaon, Dheniaghat presently residing at Samelangso Karbi Anglong Assam, on June 21.
According to deputy commissioner of excise (NC) Katoho Sumi, the duty party intercepted a 16-wheeler truck bearing registration number NL01AE-0132 and upon checking the vehicle, 785 bottles of Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were found concealed inside and above the truck cabin head along with cement consignment. The handyman was arrested and brought to the excise NC office for further investigation along with the seized contraband and vehicle.
The seized items were deposited in the office Malkhana and the case is presently under investigation as per relevant provisions under NLTP Act, 1989, Katoho further informed.
The duty party was led by AIEs Nokcha and Chuba Yim, constables Khumeng, Keneizelie, Alice, Kamnei, Tongang, Tokaho and Amos.
