Excise Dimapur conducts raid

A combined raid on illegal liquor outlets was conducted under the command of Katoho Sumi, assistant commissioner of Excise (Enforcement) at various locations in Dimapur on February 26. According to a press release from the assistant commissioner of Excise, a total of 1056 bottles of assorted IMFL were seized and the offenders were penalized under the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act 1989. The release also stated that department will continue to conduct such surprise raids to control rampant flow of liquor in the state. 385 litres of country liquor was also destroyed on the spot.
