Excise Dimapur seizes 205 cases of IMFL

DIMAPUR: Dimapur district Excise duty party manning Newfield check gate on April 12 arrested one Md. Aftowdin Ali (38), resident of Khatkhati, Assam on charges of possessing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
According to superintendent of excise and prohibition, Tokuho Assumi, the duty party intercepted an Imphal bound goods carrier truck (AS01LC 2737) and recovered 205 cases of IMFL concealed under cartons of household dairy products.
During investigation, Assumi informed that the contraband IMFL was loaded from Guaripur, Guwahati Assam and was bound for Kohima while the dairy product goods bound for Imphal, Manipur.
The accused arrested was booked under relevant sections of the NLTP ACT 89.
The duty party was led by AIE Allen Jami, head constable Khekavi, constables – Buden, Thejong, Khalenthong, Tsathongli, Thrilise, Wati and lady constable Sorila.
