Excise Kma seize cough syrup

A surveillance duty party of superintendent of excise Kohima unit on May 16 seized 1017 bottles of banned cough syrup (rancodex 100 ml) at Khuzama check post.
In a press release, superintendent of exercise and prohibition Kohima, Katoho Sumi said team intercepted pick-up truck bound for Manipur fully loaded with eggs and some other articles.
On thorough checking, the team detected banned cough syrup containing codeine neatly packed in a sack. In connection with this, one Alex Newmai was arrested and booked for violation of NDPS Act 1985. The superintendent of excise said since the setting of surveillance team, the duty party was on high alert and performed prohibition duty successfully. The seized articles were deposited to the excise Malkhana, Kohima.
