Excise mobile squad duty party manning Chumukedima excise check gate arrested one person and seized 420 bottles of assorted IMFL near Jharnapani on February 26. The arrested person has been identified as Bensolemla Chang.
According to superintendent of Excise and Prohibition (MS), K. Toshiho Yeptho, the excise mobile squad party during routine checking signalled Mahindra Scorpio (NL01P0035) to stop for checking, but the vehicle sped away. However, the duty party chased down the vehicle at Jharnapani. Both the accused and seized articles were handed over to higher authority for further investigation.
