Excise narcotic cell seize IMFL

Acting on a tip-off, excise narcotic cell (NC) personnel recovered 450 cases of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a truck (AS 01 CC 4206) on March 28 at Purana Bazar, Dimapur.

According to deputy commissioner of excise (NC), S Chanlei Angh, the contraband was concealed in the truck by several cartons of biscuits which was loaded in the outskirts of Guwahati.

In this connection, Angh said two persons identified as Kamrul Islam (26) son of Abdul Majid of Baruating, Assam and Kunal Shah (20) son of Kamlesh Kumar of Mantri Pukhri, East Imphal, Manipur were arrested and booked under relevant sections of NLTP Act 1989. 

The seized articles are being kept in the excise Malkhana for future destruction by the competent destruction board, informed Angh.
