DIMAPUR, AUG 24 (NPN): Narcotic Cell of the Excise Department, Dimapur, seized 2,460 bottles and cans of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth approximately Rs 1.95 lakh during enforcement operations conducted across Dimapur in August.
According to Joint Commissioner of Excise, Dimapur, S. Phyobemo Kikon, the seizures were made in connection with various liquor detection cases during routine checking, mobile vehicle check posts (MVCPs), and enforcement duties along the inter State Kushiabil four lane, highways and other areas in and around Dimapur.
The Department informed that the intensified enforcement drive was part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal possession, transportation and sale of liquor. It reiterated its commitment to strengthening enforcement against illegal trade and transportation of liquor and other prohibited substances under the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989 and the NDPS Act, 1985.
It further warned outlet operators and defaulters to refrain from engaging in illegal activities, cautioning that regular detection and checking would continue in the coming days.
