Exhibition football match held under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Shamator

DIMAPUR, JUN (NPN): As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA), an exhibition football match was organised in Shamator district with the active participation of various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to promote awareness against substance abuse and encourage healthy community engagement.
The programme was led by EAC, Shamator Sangtsui, while Deputy Commissioner of Shamator and Chairman of NCORD Shamator Arikumba, NCS attended the event as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Arikumba appreciated the active involvement of CSOs in supporting the objectives of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He urged all stakeholders to continue working collectively to strengthen awareness initiatives and promote a drug-free environment across the district.
Addressing the gathering, SDO (Civil), Shamator Athrong, NCS, underscored the importance of community participation in the fight against substance abuse. He highlighted the role of sports and constructive activities in fostering a healthy, disciplined and drug-free society.
The exhibition match served as a platform to reinforce community engagement while spreading the message of a healthy and substance-free society.
Earlier, a football match was played between the team comprising Village Council Chairmen (GBs) and Ward Leaders and a combined team of the Shamator Town Students’ Union and Shamator Town Public Forum. The GBs and Ward Leaders emerged victorious with a 3–1 win.
