Exhibition match between Aizawl FC and Mon XI FC in Mon

DIMAPUR, JUN 3 (NPN): The Mon District Football Association (MDFA) organized a special exhibition match under the theme “Football for Peace” between Aizawl FC and Mon XI FC at the Pangting Astro Turf Ground, Mon Village on June 2.
According to a DIPR report, the event drew enthusiastic participation from local football fans and marked a significant step in promoting sports as a medium for peace and unity in the region.
Addressing the gathering, joint secretary of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), Sunep Longchar, acknowledged the Government of Nagaland for its continued efforts to strengthen the sports fraternity in the state.
He emphasized that such initiatives would foster wider peace and unity across Nagaland and beyond.
In his remarks, Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, highlighted the importance of the theme “Football for Peace”. He stated that the exhibition match was not only about promoting football but also about reinforcing peace, unity and brotherhood through the sport in the Northeast.
He expressed gratitude to Aizawl FC, NFA and MDFA for providing the district’s football enthusiasts with the opportunity to witness and experience a new level of competitive play through the friendly encounter with Mon XI FC.
