Expo at DGC draws large crowd

Visitors to the Working Woman Expo (WWE) at Dimapur Government College (DGC) grounds on Thursday were treated with an array of food, drinks, art and crafts, all locally made or created by women self-help groups of Dimapur.

A press release from Working Women Project (WWP) Sentinaro Alley stated that, the three-day-long expo is bringing together a good mix of women SHGs to showcase their products. Expo was conceptualized to enable SHGs to build up their brands and provide an enhanced customer experience.

Kids of all ages and adults were seen busy tasting all the delicious local dishes, socialising, enjoying the festive music, and relaxing at the venue.

Visitors also stayed back to enjoy the “Centrestage” an evening of good music from local artistes.

The expo is being organised by the WWP, a non-profit endeavour established with the aim to create self reliance among women from low income households in Dimapur. It will conclude on December 20.
