Extra vehicles with ministers, advisors, MLAs to be withdrawn

The chief electoral officer (CEO) office Nagaland has asked the state government to withdraw extra government vehicles attached to ministers, advisors and MLAs to avoid misuse of government vehicles for campaigning/electioneering during the election period.
In a letter to the chief secretary, additional chief electoral officer (ACEO) Ruokuovituo Khezhie stated that in view of the enforcement of model code of conduct for the ensuing general election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2023, there was a total ban on use of government vehicle for electioneering purpose.
CEO office stated that minister, advisor, MLA etc. were entitled to use their official vehicles only for commuting from their official residence to their office for official work. In this regard, CEO office has requested the chief secretary to direct all administrative heads of department and heads of department to immediately withdraw all the extra vehicles attached to their respective minister, advisor etc.
