Deputy Commissioner Niuland, Sara S Jamir, has issued a public notice restricting the extraction of boulders and sand from the Chathe River in Niuland district. DC informed that rampant extraction was damaging the ecology and endangering lives and properties in the area. She warned that violators will be penalized under the law, with machinery and equipment subject to seizure and confiscation.
