Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung organised a farewell programme for one of the oldest serving and retiring professor, Dr. D. K. Singh from department of chemistry on July 21.
Dr. D. K. Singh in his farewell speech said that when he was offered a job to work as a lecturer in Fazl Ali College, he jumped at the offer and since then he had never looked back. He expressed happiness on having served the people of Mokokchung which he considered an honour and a privilege. He greatly appreciated the customs and traditions of the people and reiterated that these were memories never to be forgotten.
Dr. Singh had joined the college on November 1, 1983. He enumerated how, in the mentioned year, he had come on a visit to Nagaland as part of a trip to Tuli Paper Mill while working as a trainee chemist in a prestigious firm.
Fazl Ali College Teachers’ Association, president, Watitoshi, mentioned Dr. D. K. Singh’s contribution to the association in various capacities as ANGCTA representative, general secretary, auditor and nominating committee member.
Fazl Ali College principal, Arenla Longkumer, also congratulated the officer for having achieved his destination in good health. She expressed that D. Kji, as he was fondly called, was a real soul who knew his profession, for whom work was worship and who always extended a helping hand to the needy students.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Imtiwati Jamir, HoD, physics and ended with a special prayer for the outgoing officer by Dr. Aotemshi of mathematics department
