Facing challenges to implement health schemes: FGI

Future Generali India (FGI) insurance company has admitted that it had been facing some challenges in the implementation of health insurance under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) in Nagaland.
However, the company in a statement assured that it was working with the relevant authorities to address the same in the interest of the sustainability of the scheme, and to ensure that customers are not at a loss.
As lifetime partners to customers, the company said it remained firmly committed to service all those who had insured with it.
According to FGI, the state government too wanted to control frauds and ensure that the premiums were viable and did not put pressure on the state exchequer.
The company said any policy administrator or insurer would be forced to hike rates to reflect the claims outgo. Besides the claims paid out, there were significant administrative costs too that were incurred.
Finally, the company pointed out that it was the honest tax payers who would bear the brunt of a system that did not control leakages.
