Mhathung Tsanglao takes charge as DC Wokha
A farewell programme for outgoing Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar and a welcome for the new Deputy Commissioner Mhathung Tsanglao was held at the DC Conference Hall, Wokha, on April 17, attended by officials from various departments, civil society organisations (CSOs) and others.
In his farewell address, Vineet thanked colleagues and outpost officers for their support and dedication, expressing gratitude for the cooperation extended during his tenure. He said he was leaving the district with a sense of satisfaction and described Wokha as a district with immense potential, encouraging continued efforts with kindness and humility to achieve greater progress.
Incoming DC, Mhathung Tsanglao remarked that “it is not how long one serves, but how well one serves.” He noted that the outgoing DC had set a strong benchmark for the district administration and assured that he would strive to build on the foundation laid.
Heads of departments and officials lauded Vineet Kumar as a dedicated and patient officer who resolved issues with wisdom and effective action. They described him as open to opinions and committed to the welfare of the people.
Meanwhile, farmers across Wokha expressed gratitude for the outgoing DC’s contributions, noting progress in agriculture and allied sectors during his tenure. They highlighted collaborations with national institutes that introduced scientific practices, technology support and training opportunities, opening avenues for innovation and long-term development. Farmers also acknowledged initiatives such as the Wokha Banana Festival, which provided exposure and market opportunities, and conveyed appreciation for his leadership in strengthening livelihoods.
