Farmer scientist interaction at KVK Aboi

In a bid to facilitate the exchange of scientific knowledge and address field-level challenges faced by farmers, ATMA Mon organized a Farmer–Scientist Interaction programme on February 24 at KVK Aboi.
According to a press release, the programme aimed at narrowing the gap between research institutions and practical farming to enhance productivity and profitability.
Addressing the gathering, SDO (C) Anjangyang, Anjanyang Renbithung Jami, underscored the importance of such interactions in strengthening the link between scientists and farmers. He emphasized that collaborative platforms help translate research-based knowledge into practical solutions for everyday farming challenges. He also lauded the farmers for their keen interest in learning scientific methods of cultivation and improved management practices for crops and livestock.
Farmers from various blocks, including Chen, Anjangyang, Tizit, Tobu, Mon and Aboi, actively participated in the interaction. Scientists provided technical guidance and responded to queries covering a wide range of topics such as field crops, cash crops, and livestock rearing.
Real-time challenges faced by farmers were also discussed, including issues related to livestock diseases, crop pests, and their management.
The resource persons for the programme were ACTO, KVK Dr. Renbomo Ngullie; ACTO, KVK Dr. Rongsensusang; BTM Mhachamo Ngullie; and Dy, PD Nuchet. The session was moderated by deputy project director, ATMA N. Subenthung Odyuo,.
As part of the programme, the Best Farmer Award was conferred upon Moya Konyak from Aboi Block in recognition of her exceptional contributions to the farming community.
