College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, organized a one-day Farmer-Scientist Interaction cum Technology Distribution program on March 5, 2025, with Dr. Namsui Tho, Chief Veterinary Officer of Peren District, as special guest.
The initiative was conducted in collaboration with ICAR-CARI, Izzatnagar, and was part of the project “Evaluation of CARI-Improved Germplasm and its Popularization” under the ICAR NEH Scheme.
Two distinguished experts delivered insightful presentations during the program. Senior Scientist from ICAR Medziphema, Dr. Mahak Singh, emphasized the importance of backyard poultry farming in improving the livelihoods and economic well-being of poultry farmers.
Professor and Head of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gunjan Das addressed emerging and re-emerging poultry diseases, offering valuable knowledge to the participants.
The program was chaired by Dean, Dr. I. Shakuntala who urged the beneficiaries to actively participate and contribute to the initiative’s success. It was coordinated by Assistant Professor of Veterinary Physiology, Dr. Bhabesh Mili, and Assistant Professor of Livestock Production Management, Dr. Imtiwati
The program concluded with distribution of agricultural technology and resources to 60 beneficiaries. They received two-week-old vaccinated chicks of the CARI-Devendra and CARI-Nirbheek breeds, along with feed, feeders, and drinkers to support their poultry farming.
