
Agricultural technology management agency (ATMA) Mon organised a training on “modern tools and implements for sustainable agriculture” at District Horticulture Office, Mon on August 29.
In the programme, special guest, District Horticulture Officer and project director ATMA Mon, Eyongol Natso said all equipments and tools will be made available for the advantage of farmers, in order to improve productivity with less input of manpower. He also stressed on the importance of growing together to the farmer groups, progressive farmers and agro input delears.
Dy. PD ATMA Mon, N.Subenthung Odyuo briefed the participants on the importance of tools and implementation for easy and sustainable farming.
He also elaborated on different tools and farming inputs that were available, affordable and suitable for the hill agriculture.
Earlier, the programme chaired by Nemchaba Jamir BTM, began with an invocation by Ngepsha Konyak.
Later in the technical session, the resource persons Chingak Konyak , Proprietor, Agro Servicing Centre Mon and Mhachamo Ngullie BTM elaborated and demonstrated on the usage of different organic fertilizers and organic pest control for the farmers. During the programme, the trainees were also trained on the package and practice of different winter crops.
50 farmers from eight blocks comprising of progressive farmers, farmers friend and group attended the programme. Farming implements and seeds were distributed to the participants.
