Farmers trained on ‘bee keeping’

Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) and National Bee Board (NBB), DAC, Government of India, New Delhi jointly organized farmers training on “Bee keeping for enhancing horticulture crop production” at Seithekema A and Seithekema C village, Dimapur from January 21 -24.
Assistant scientist, AICRP (Honey bees & pollinators) SASRD: NU, Dr. A. K. Singh, and Apiarist AICRP (Honey bees & pollinators), Ngukho were the resource persons during the training.
Farmers were also imparted training on various aspects of bee keeping like scope & importance of honey bees and its colony management, etc.  On the concluding day, certificates were distributed to all the participants along with reading materials.
Altogether 48 farmers attended the training. The programme was coordinated by Horticulture specialist, CIH, Medziphema, Sentiyangla.
Farmers also visited multi utility centre, NBHM, 5th Mile, Dimapur where they were explained on the various activities of the centre by team member NBHM, Temjenchuba Kichu.
