Green Hills Research and Development (GHRD), in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) ICAR Jharnapani, Dimapur, organized a farmers’ training programme on pineapple processing on July 15.
The training was conducted for farmers of Chumoukedima Organic Producer Company Limited (FPC) under the Department of Agriculture, DAO Chumoukedima district, as part of the MOVCDNER objectives to promote value addition in horticultural and agricultural crops.
Dr. Chingakham Sima Chanu, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science), served as the resource person and guided participants through hands-on sessions on preparing pineapple-based products such as ready-to-serve juice, squash, and jam in accordance with FSSAI norms.
Dr. Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Dimapur, encouraged farmers to apply the skills learned and assured continued support through future training programmes.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Bendangsenla and Masabenba on behalf of KVK ICAR and GHRD respectively.
More than 30 pineapple farmers attended the training, which was supported and sponsored by the KVK ICAR Dimapur team.
