Farmers training conducted at IPM Model Village Rusoma

A training programme was successfully conducted at IPM Model Village, Rusoma, under the project titled “Establishment of Crop-Based Model IPM Villages for Promotion of Integrated Pest Management Technologies in the NEH Region of India”, on February 21.
A press release by NU informed that Project Assistant, Dr. Bendangsenla Longkumer, conducted practical demonstration on application of bio-pesticides in citrus and vegetable crops. The session provided farmers with hands-on knowledge of safe and effective pest management techniques. Dr. Laishram Hemanta elaborated on the importance of proper nutrient management in citrus and other major crops grown in the village. Dr. Sh. Herojit Singh (Co-PI) highlighted the economic importance of citrus cultivation, stating that it plays a vital role in strengthening the rural economy by providing income and employment to farmers.
A total of 50 farmers actively participated in the training programme and interacted with the experts during the sessions.
