Farmers training held in Aboi

A one-day training on “layout of orchard & production of vegetables crops” was organized by Hills Farmer’s Club, Aboi, on January 19 with SMS (soil science) Imtinuksung Longkumer and SMS (GPB) Dr. Manoj Singh Sachan, as the resource persons.
During the training, Imti delivered lecture on soil management such as half moon terracing, bench terracing across the slope, Jalkun for rain water harvesting and layout of the orchard. He also showed video on orchard management.
Dr. Manoj emphasized importance on vegetable crops rather than the cereals crops for income generation.
The cost benefit on “vegetable production” was also discussed and he further encouraged the farmers clubs members and the trainees present in the training to be diligent in their vocation.
The programme concluded by the presentation and refreshment served by the Hills Farmers Club, Aboi, Mon.
