F&CS Dept holds coordination meet on service delivery, tech integration

DIMAPUR

In a move to strengthen service delivery and embrace digital transformation, the department of Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) convened a coordination meeting with advisor, Food and Civil Supply, K.T. Sukhalu, at the Directorate of F&CS, Dimapur, on July 29. The meeting was attended by secretary F&CS, Wonchio Odyuo, departmental officers, and newly appointed director, Vekhoyi Chakhesang, who welcomed attendees and called for coordinated efforts to enhance public service delivery. Presentations were made by the department’s MIS team on key initiatives including the Ration Card Management System (RCMS) and Integrated Aadhaar-enabled Supply Chain Management (IAeSCM) under SMART PDS.
Implementation of the Vehicle Location Tracking System (VLTS), mandated by the Government of India for real-time monitoring of grain transport, was also highlighted.
Additional updates included Route Optimization efforts, integration of Electronic Weighing Scales (EWS) with ePoS devices at Fair Price Shops, and upcoming mobile applications—Mera Ration App, Anna Mitra, and Anna Sahayata App—to be launched by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
Addressing the gathering, K.T. Sukhalu emphasized departmental efficiency through IT adoption and urged equipping staff with digital skills.
He stressed sensitization of the public and stakeholders to new technologies and reaffirmed the importance of grassroots delivery of welfare schemes.
Secretary Wonchio Odyuo urged sincerity, transparency, and collaboration across all levels to improve service delivery. Joint director, Dr. Kapenlo Thong, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude for the collective commitment to strengthening the Department’s mission.
