February 6 NH-2 bandh called off

Following the assurance made by power department, the Consumers’ forum of Tseminyu and Pughoboto sub-divisions, Wozhero Range and Rengma Students’ Union have called of the February 6, 12 hour NH-2 bandh. Informing this in a press release, Action Committee convenor John Semy and member secretary Jetilo Apon said “after coming into, the point of agreement with the Power department that it will take all grievances of the affected regions on top priority”, the bandh was called off.
Meanwhile, the forum expressed gratitude to ADC Tseminyu, Vikhweno M. Meratsu for taking the initiative to resolve the impasse amicably. It maybe mentioned that the forum had called for the bandh following the inaction of the Power deparment to resotre the damaged of 33 KVA feeder line Tseminyu at Longsa area.
