DIMAPUR: The Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has issued a rejoinder in response to a press statement published in Nagaland Post on April 30 under the caption “FGN Welcomes Homecoming of Chakhesang National Workers.”
In a rejoinder issued by Rali Wali, Kilonser, NNC/FGN, Vepozo Chuzho, the FGN clarified that the report involved individuals from the Thupuneyi Rhakho group joining the Brig. (Retd) S. Singnya group with self-attested ranks, which it described as lacking legitimate authority. The rejoinder expressed regret that certain individuals were exploiting the prevailing Naga political situation, thereby lowering the image of national service.
Naming individuals such as Toto Nienu, Kuveshevo Venuh and Rami Venuh, the FGN stated that their overnight assumption of titles like Midan Peyu, Brigadier and Major reflected neither allegiance nor principle, but rather personal gain. It emphasized that such practices undermine organizational integrity and tarnish the reputation of the Chakhesang Region national workers, long known for their loyalty and discipline.
The FGN urged all Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to verify identity, rank and service records before acknowledging or disseminating such claims.
The FGN cautioned organizations against entertaining individuals seeking short-term publicity, stressing that such actions weaken the Naga national institution.
