Federating units of Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) have condemned condemned the Eastern Nagaland Sumi Students Union (ENSSU) over the inaccurate and misleading use of the term “Sangtam”.
The condemnation notes, all issued separately by office members of Thangthure Village Students Union, Seyochung Town Students Union, New Monger Students Union, Thsingar Village Students Union, Seyochung Village Students Union, Yingphire Village Students Union, Old Monger Village Students Union, and Yangzitong Village Students Union.
The federating units condemned the erroneous use of the name “Seyochung Area Sangtam Students’ Union”, pointing that it had created unnecessary confusion.
It strongly expressed that such inaccuracies not only mislead public but also distort the true identity and representation of student bodies in the region.
SASU, being the principal and recognized student body of the Seyochung area, the federating units mentioned that it rightly emphasized that no such organization as the “Seyochung Area Sangtam Students’ Union” exists within the Seyochung area or under the umbrella of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC).
The federating units also expressed solidarity to SASU’s call for immediate clarification and its insistence that all official communications regarding Seyochung region must be directed through SASU, as both valid and necessary.
