Kedahge of Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), ‘Brig.’ (retd) S Singnya, has appealed to all sensible public of the two warring tribes in Tuensang to restrain from ‘unusual action’ and stop provoking one another at present which may aggravate the volatile situation but to uphold and maintain the spirit of forgiveness.
Singya in a statement said Naga people should always abide with peace and tranquility and try to avoid communal or tribal clashes/conflicts that turns ugly among brethrens. He said Nagas should always reconcile and co-exist with one another by throwing and deleting all unwanted seeds that are socially harmful.
While appreciating the church leaders and NGOs particularly ENPO, ENSF, CKS, YTC, etc. for ceaselessly working to bring the situations to normal between the two tribes, he further appealed all to act collectively to avoid further escalation of present situation.
BJP: BJP Nagaland Unit, has also appealed for peace and calm following the the intra tribal clash which claimed at least two lives in Tuensang district recently.
BJP unit president, Dr. M Chuba Ao, in a press statement, said such ethnic clashes should be contained at the earliest at this juncture, when the Nagas are working tirelessly towards bring solution into the vexed Naga political issues.
The BJP Nagaland unit expressed apprehension that unless various tribes come together with understanding and respect for each other’s existence, Nagas might not see the light of day. BJP also urged the various Naga civil societies to intervene so that such intra tribal difference is sorted out before it goes out of hand.
BJP Nagaland has further asked the district administration and police to take utmost care in controlling such conflicts so as to ensure understanding and mutual co-operation amongst various tribes of the state.
