Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN/NNC) has issued a clarification refuting the statement made by Tusoveyi Demo, who claims to be the deputy kilonser.
In a press release MIP of the group, termed his remarks as “completely baseless” and alleged that they were intended only to create confusion within the government and among the general public.
Strongly condemning such irresponsible statements, the FGN/NNC urged Tusoveyi Demo to refrain from making misleading claims that bring unnecessary misunderstanding among the Naga people.
On the issue concerning the Sumi region, the FGN/NNC reiterated that every political group exists for the welfare of the entire Naga people and not for any single tribe. It emphasised that all tribes have the right to join any political organisation if they are committed to working for the betterment and future of the Naga nation, stressing that unity and cooperation among all tribes remain essential for collective progress.
The organisation further stated that under the leadership of newly elected president Sukhai Awomi and the newly appointed team, the FGN/NNC is functioning smoothly and effectively.
It reminded that its official declaration issued on February 28 remains the final position of the government, and following the impeachment of Thinoseli, the former president, he no longer holds any authority to use the name of the government.
Expressing dissatisfaction over continued statements by Tusoveyi Demo, the FGN/NNC also rejected the claim regarding the appointment of Kuzholhuyi Vadeo as president, terming it “completely false” and an intentional attempt to mislead the Naga public.
The government strongly condemned such misleading and irresponsible remarks, urging individuals to desist from making false claims in the future. It appealed to the public to not be misled and to rely only on official communications issued by the office of the FGN/NNC.
