The Tatar Hoho, FGN and Naga National Council (NNC) executive joint meeting held at Khulazu Basa village on September 23 unanimously resolved to withdraw support to NNC president Thinoselie M Keyho’s leadership.
The meeting also unanimously elected TS Keyho, vice-president of NNC, as the organisation’s “legitimate president”, besides electing Tsorisa Nusory as the vice-president.
Informing this in a statement, speaker Tatar, FGN Künüchosa Rhakho asserted that the NNC was a political institution and the president had no right to elect or terminate the kedahge (president) of the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) since the latter was elected by the Tatar Hoho.
He mentioned that without the consent of the Tatar Hoho, no individual had been vested with the authority to terminate or elect the FGN Kedahge.
However, he alleged that Keyho had forcefully demanded the resignation of FGN kedahge Vekronü Dozo on August 23, 2023, without any consent and advise of the Tatar Hoho, which was in violation of the yezahbo under Art.23(a).
He alleged that the NNC president had been dictatorially encroaching on the executive powers of the FGN kedahge, which were contradictory to the yezahbo.
Further, the Tatar Hoho held on the same day at Khulazu Basa village agreed to the request of Vekronü Dozo, FGN kedahge, to step down on health grounds and was inducted as the Nsa Midan.
Henceforth, since the office of the kedahge should not remain vacant, the house unanimously elected TM Rhakho as the kedahge with voice vote. As such, all proceedings of the government and the administration would be directed under the name and seal of Rhakho.
