FGN rejects withdrawal of support to Keyho; 7 expelled

Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has outrightly rejected the announcement of the ultra-vires meeting resolution to withdraw support to NNC president Thinoselie M Keyho’s leadership. In a rejoinder, FGN killo kilonser Zaleo said that the FGN strongly condemned the unconstitutional and anti-national meeting held on September 23 called and conducted by speaker of Tatar Hoho, Künüchosa Rhakho which violated Article 61 of the Yehzabo.

Citing the Lakhuti Resolution of April 27, 1955, Zaleo said that legal proceedings shall be initiated against all erring individuals who conspired and participated in the said meeting and shall be taken up for befitting penalties as per provisions of the Yehzabo in the emergency Tatar Hoho called by the Kedahge, FGN on September 27, 2023.

In this regard, the acting Kedahge, FGN based on the decision of the emergency tatar hoho expelled seven persons from NNC/FGN indefinitely for committing treason.
The individuals include– T.S. Keyho, former NNC vice president; Vekronü Dozo, former FGN Kedahge; Künüchosa Rhakho, former speaker tatar hoho; ‘gen.’ T.M. Rhakho, dormer C-in-C Naga Army; ‘brig.’ Kükno Khüsoh, former GOC, SC, NA; Trovüsa Dozo, former president, Chakhesang Regional Council, NNC and
Hetoi Tuccu, Tatar Sumi Region.

Further, Zaleo also said that the allegation by FGN kedahge Vekronü Dozo, that he was forced to resign by NNC president ‘gen.’ (Retd.) Thinoselie was unfounded, totally false and baseless.
Rather, Zaleo said that Dozo had, by writing under his own hand as per the provision of Article 23(a), tendered his resignation to the FGN kedallo on August 26, 2023. After accepting the resignation, the Kedallo called for an emergency meeting on September 11, 2023 during which it was decided to make the kedallo as the acting Kedahge till normalization.

He said that Dozo was misled by some persons and prayer groups which led him to participate in the unconstitutional meeting on September 23 at K. Basa village, inviting legal penalties upon himself.
Zaleo said the September 23 meeting was not the tatar hoho, but has been treated as a meeting of conspiracy and anti-national activity to disrupt the FGN and the NNC by six persons of Chakesang region, two persons of Sumi region, two persons of Pochury region and two privates from Konyak region out of 17 recognized and affiliated regions of FGC/NNC. The killo kilonser asked whether this could be called a mandated tatar hoho.

It reminded that Art 20 of the Yehzabo of Nagaland reads, “The Kedahge shall be elected by an Elective college consisting of the elected members of the Tatar Hoho”. Article 144(1) reads, “A Central Executive Council which will guide and control the Political policy and decisions of the Nation” for the NNC.
Zaleo said there was no provision in the Yehzabo for the speaker of tatar hoho to call an emergency tatar hoho, except through procedure and convention.

It, therefore, said that such ultra-vires and unconstitutional meeting cannot remove the NNC president, ‘gen.’ (Retd) Thinoselie nor elect T.S. Keyho as president of NNC. Zaleo said that only the Central Executive Council of NNC was the responsible authority.

It also said that there was no means to elect ‘gen’ T.M Rhakho, C-in-C of Naga Army as FGN kedahge, when Namrikiu was the incumbent acting FGN kedahge since September 11, 2023 following the acceptance of the resignation of FGN kedahge Vekronü Dozo.

Therefore, Zaleo said the declared announcement of the ultra-vires meeting reported in the local dailies is “null and void” in the fold of the NNC and FGN, which is the property of the Nagas.
