Reacting to ACAUT’s allegation that chief minister, TR Zeliang, was withholding RTI reply, the public information officer (PIO) finance department, V. Kezo, has clarified that the conversation referred to (by ACAUT) took place in the month of July 2017 when the state was in the midst of a political crisis.
At that point in time, PIO said the department was struggling to trace files that were in transit as the then advisor finance had also demitted office. Further, PIO clarified that there was no intention on the part of the department to withhold facts that were on record. He said that reply to the RTI was ready and would be furnished to the applicants.
