Fire breaks out at Supply Colony

DIMAPUR, JUN 30 (NPN): A fire broke out at Supply Colony, Dimapur in the early hours of Tuesday, affecting three families and causing property loss estimated at Rs. 8-9 lakh.
According to Fire & Emergency Services, an emergency call was received at 2:43 a.m., following which firefighting teams were immediately dispatched. Three water tenders from Fire Station Dimapur West and two from Fire Station Central Dimapur, along with adequate personnel, were pressed into service.
Firefighters acted swiftly to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. West Fire Police Station reported that the fire damaged four rooms of a government Assam type quarter, a two room private kaccha house with kitchen, and a one room government Assam type quarter.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries occurred. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire was triggered by a short circuit. Authorities said a detailed assessment of the damage is underway.
