Fire breaks out at Thilixu

A fire broke out at Thilixu, Block 1, Lane 2, on Monday night around 10:50 p.m., destroying a kitchen and partially damaging a nearby residential structure.
According to fire officials, the blaze started while pork was being smoked in the kitchen. The kitchen, a separate Assam-type structure near the main house, was completely gutted.
A portion of the ceiling in the main house was also affected. Firefighters from the Central Fire Station responded promptly and managed to douse the fire within 20 to 30 minutes.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
