Fire destroys house in Walford

One house was completely destroyed by fire at Walford colony in Dimapur on January 1.
According to Walford Area Council (WAC), the fire, which broke out at around 4 p.m., was suspected to have caused due to electric short circuit. The destroyed residence belonged to one Atoli N Awomi, WAC stated.
In a press release, WAC chairman T Jemu and secretary Vetsosa Nyekha said properties amounting to Rs. 4 lakh was destroyed by the fire.
Meanwhile, the council has lauded department of fire service, Punjab regiment, neighbours and Sema Baptist Church for timely intervention in containing the fire.
