Fire destroys nine structures in Kiphire

DIMAPUR

A massive fire broke out early morning at Kipongya Ward, Zone 6, Kisingki, located about 3 km from the Kiphire Fire Station.
According to DIPR report, fire station received a call at 5:40 am, prompting the deployment of two water tankers with sufficient manpower.
After nearly an hour of continuous firefighting, the blaze was brought under control.
The fire completely destroyed six rooms and three kitchens. However, timely intervention saved seven to ten nearby households from being affected.
Two minor casualties were reported and sent to the District Hospital for first aid.
Despite the challenging location and poor road connectivity, firefighters managed to contain the damage effectively, DIPR report stated.
